Subject: Mission Statement

It is a distinct privilege to be a venue that allows artists, actors, film and video makers, musicians, and writers to exhibit their collective talents to the people of Kansas City. Therefore, I would like to thank all the people that performed in the last two years to help the theatre evolve to what it has become today. Entelechy Theatre Co. with the direction of the illustrious George Bennett brought some of the classiest productions of innovative, one of a kind, and even funny theatre, with the help of his actors and crew. Thank you George, we all wish you well in New York.

We are looking forward to more great performances with the Funny Outfit, who helped us turn the corner with the International Improv Festival (We will keep you posted for the 1999 festival this fall), and shows that always have the fresh improvised flavor that keeps our audiences on the floor. We are very much looking forward to having them back for many more. We think comedy is the cat's meow, and we want to mix it up with opera, musical events, and serious local productions of the kind of theatre and entertainment that you get nowhere else.

It is our goal to bring a "LIVE" talk show to Kansas City that will showcase local entertainment, landmark districts, and interesting people of Kansas City that make our city a great place to live and a wonderful place to visit. It will be shown on a weekly basis with an emphasis on fun and a fresh approach to exploring Kansas City from a new perspective. All this direct from the middle of Kansas City's newest and best entertainment venue, the Westport Coffeehouse Theatre.

Q. Hey Tom, what makes you think you can do that? You must be dreaming.

A. Yes I am. And we will begin broadcasting on New Years Eve on a new "High Bandwidth" website called BARETV.com. Westport Coffeehouse Theatre events and some exciting new shows will be forthcoming. Of all the projects we've done, this one promises to be the most rewarding because it will take the efforts of many hardworking people and its success will depend on the creative talents of a specially selected group of the best that Kansas City has to offer. I believe that this town is ready for an intimate local television show that unselfishly represents the whole Kansas City Scene. Stay Tuned.

By the way, it's nice to get an award anytime, but it's great to get this award. Congratulations to Kathleen Warfel. Thank you Kansas City!
